FBCAD Mails Out Property Tax Transparency Postcards to Property Owners

FORT BEND — The Fort Bend Central Appraisal District (FBCAD) has mailed an informational postcard to every property owner in the county in advance of the upcoming tax rate adoption season.

The postcard encourages property owners to visit, a property tax transparency website created to provide information about the adoption of local tax rates. On the site, property owners can learn more about the 2021 tax rate adoption process and see information on each of the entities who levy a property tax on their property. The site also contains the definitions for the various rates, last year’s tax rate data, and the dates and locations for tax rate adoption hearings…

The Fort Bend Central Appraisal District is a political subdivision of the State of Texas established in 1982 for the purpose of discovering and appraising property for ad valorem tax purposes for each taxing unit within the boundaries of the district.

The district has approximately 376,000 accounts to appraise each year with a total market value of approximately $107 billion.
