OUR HISTORY
FBCAD (Fort Bend Central Appraisal District) is a political subdivision of the State of Texas — established in 1982 — for the purpose of discovering and appraising property for ad valorem tax purposes — for each local taxing unit — within the boundaries of the district.
The district has approximately 376,000 accounts to appraise each year with a total market value of approximately $107 billion.
FBCAD serves approximately 215 Local Taxing Units.

The Appraisal District will administer the laws under the Texas Property Tax Code and operate under the standards of:
- PTAD — The Property Tax Assistance Division of the Texas State Comptroller’s Office
- IAAO — The International Association of the Assessing Officers
- USPAP — The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
