OUR HISTORY

FBCAD (Fort Bend Central Appraisal District) is a political subdivision of the State of Texas — established in 1982 — for the purpose of discovering and appraising property for ad valorem tax purposes — for each local taxing unit — within the boundaries of the district.

The district has roughly 400,000 accounts to appraise each year with a total market value of nearly $160,000,000,000 (160 Billion).

FBCAD serves approximately 225 Local Taxing Units.

The Appraisal District will administer the laws under the Texas Property Tax Code and operate under the standards of:

  • PTAD — The Property Tax Assistance Division of the Texas State Comptroller’s Office
  • IAAO — The International Association of the Assessing Officers
  • USPAP — The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
